Electrical Estimator

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Review and evaluate project plans, specs and bid documents to produce an accurate and detailed cost proposal.

• Commit to deadlines and deliver accurate estimates in a timely manner.

• Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings.

• Participate in Bid-Review with Management.

• Execute and input material, labor, and equipment take-offs in computer based estimating software

• Identify and document difficult / non-standard conditions.

• Obtain quotes and coordinate / qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors.

• Provide value engineering and cost saving ideas.

• Verify estimate accuracy by comparing pricing against similar previous bids.

• Form strong working relationships with distributors, subcontractors, estimators, architects, and engineers.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Minimum 2-5 years estimating experience in the construction industry. Electrical experience preferred.

• Previous field experience preferred, but not required.

• Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities with interruptions and still meet deadlines.

• Ability to communicate both orally and in written format in a work setting comprised of comingled union trades.

• Detailed orientated, self-starter that can communicate effectively with office personnel, engineers, subcontractors, architects and owners.

• Excellent listening and strong communication skills.
  

• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
